What we do

Strengthening societal and democratic values

In today’s digital world, disinformation and polarisation spread most in fragmented online spaces. These challenges erode trust in media, democracy, and our ability to move forward together. The Greenwood Digital Initiative is dedicated to rebuilding trust in key societal and democratic foundations.

Collaboration-driven

The Greenwood Digital Initiative brings together research institutions, civil society organisations and digital communication experts. Together we assess and redesign various digital methods to restore public trust in democratic institutions and to strengthen access to reliable fact-based information.

By bridging the gap between research, societal challenges and digital communication, our aim is to create scalable online campaigns that offer objective viewpoints where it matters most: inside digital spaces.

Proactive societal impact, based on research

In collaboration with researchers, we develop data-backed alternatives to conventional awareness campaigns, leveraging innovative digital communication techniques to engage the hardest-to-reach audiences. These innovative campaigns should be measurable, adaptable, and designed for long-term societal impact, and support civil organisations and public institutions to drive positive change.

What makes this initiative different

Digital communication techniques repurposed for societal change

The Greenwood Digital Initiative is redefining how societies meet the challenge of disinformation. We aim to rebuild trust in fact-based quality media and journalism and strengthen the support for societal and democratic values. By repurposing today’s most effective digital techniques, we want to create social impact where it’s needed most.
